Arsenal returned Monday for the training for the season, just over fourteen days before they kick off their tour through the United States, where they will be confronted with AC Milan, Newcastle and Tottenham
Arsenal is back – quite literally. The Gunners started their 2025-26 campaign with an optional training camp in Marbella before the entire team returns later this week in London Colney, who officially kicks off the preseason.
While the stars of Arsenal enjoyed their vacation, the transfer team of the Emirates was very busy. Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga was announced as the first signing of the Gunners of the summer last week, with the promise of much more.
The next was Martin Zubimendi, because on Sunday they finally confirmed the arrival of the Spanish midfielder after paying Real Sociedad a cool £ 55 million for his signature. Arsenal also works on Deals for Brentford -Capitein Christian Norgaard, Chelsea -Vleugel player Noni Madueke and, probably the party at the top of the price tag, sporty Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres.
This means that there can be five new additions on time for this month's tour by the US. Arsenal will play AC Milan, Newcastle and Tottenham before two friends, all in preparation for their collision with Manchester United during the opening weekend of the new Premier League season in preparation.
Here are five things on the Arsenal task list.
Let gyokees be ready
Let's not come about the mess – Arsenal needs a striker and everyone who reads this will know. The problem was easy to identify, but the solution … that's where it was difficult.
Benjamin Sesko and Gyokees quickly emerged as the two best goals of the Gunners, but fans had to wait weeks for a decision. Now it is apparently made, with Arsenal in advanced conversations with Sporting about a deal for Gyokees.
Before Arteta and his team go to the US, they ideally need gyokeres through the door, so that the team can get used to the Swede. Gyokees is a considerably different profile of striker of Kai Havertz or Gabriel Jesus, so the more time the creative players of Arsenal have to get used to him, the better he will get when they make the journey to Manchester.

Decide on Madueke
In contrast to the signing of Gyokeres, nobody saw this coming. Although the Gunners are not strangers to sign players from Chelsea – ask Kepa – Madueke was not linked to the last 10 days.
But Arsenal wants the English international in the midst of their forward repeat and reportedly agreed personal conditions. The stumbling block is the asking price of £ 50 million from Chelsea.
Arsenal would be open to a £ 40 million deal, but are currently cautious to give in to the demands of their London rivals. This can then depend on the sale.
Move the Deadwood
Given the inflow of signing sessions, it is time that Arteta is ruthless. The Gunners are three years in a row on a second best in the Premier League and the patience of fans with certain players is thin.
The outputs of Thomas Partey and Jorginho signal a stir in midfield, with defender Kieran Tierney also released at the end of his contract. There are many other stars that are connected to movements, including Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior, Reiss Nelson, Fabio Vieira and Albert Sambi Lokonga.
But perhaps the biggest departure in the form of Gabriel Martinelli. The Brazilian is claimed as a target for Bayern Munich and a bid in the £ 50 million region would be a question.
Include new signing sessions
With potential five additions to the first team for their opening -friendly against Milan on July 23, Arteta will have to work to bed in his new signing sessions. Zubimendi, it is assumed, will take the place of Partey in midfield and as mentioned earlier, the arrival of Gyokeres would be a major shift in the dynamic front.
Norgaard will also have to adapt to a possession based system, with the average of Brentford last season at 48 percent. Arsenal's, on the other hand, was 57.
Where would Madueke play? As a backup to Bukayo Saka on the right or possibly a direct replacement for Martinelli on the left wing?
There may be some teething problems, but Arteta will hope that short -term pain will be in the long term. Friendly will be crucial to collaborate his team.
Stay injury free
Injuries have destroyed the 2024-25 season of Arsenal and given that both Liverpool and Manchester City seem to be stronger in the next term, the Gunners must avoid long-term absence at all costs. After another debilitating campaign for club and country, Arteta has to take care of his stars and ensure that they are in the best possible form for 10 months of tests and trials.
Of course there is an element of happiness with injuries and Arsenal cannot play or train half -hearted. We all know how Arteta likes that his players win their duels.
The Gunners -Baas was criticized in the last term for supposedly to play Saka, so his minutes early in the season will be a talk point. In addition, Gabriel Magalhaes and Havertz return from long -term injuries and will have to relieve them again.
