Smith Rowe sends warning to Arsenal ahead of first game against his former club

Fulham star Emile Smith Rowe wants to show Arsenal what they have lost when the two clubs meet in the Premier League on Sunday.

Smith Rowe had spent his entire career with the Gunners before signing for the Cottagers in a deal worth an initial £27 million.

He remained a fan favorite as a product of the Hale End academy but was deemed surplus to requirements by Mikel Arteta.

The Englishman has shown why he was so highly rated as a youngster since his move to Craven Cottage, starting all but one Premier League match.

He has contributed three goals and two assists in that time and has no regrets.

“At 24 you want to play every week and get opportunities, and it got to the point where for whatever reason I wasn't really getting opportunities anymore,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live.

'I had to make the decision to move on. I am now getting my chances and I am very happy with them.

“Obviously I want to show them what they're missing when it comes to being there and leaving, but that's nothing personal. I have so much love for them, but obviously I want to win with Fulham.”

“I thought it would be a lot harder than it has been. It's actually been very easy,” he added, reflecting on what seemed like a simple transition.

'I thought I would be very angry and sad. It was clearly the hardest decision I've ever had to make, but definitely the right one. I feel like I'm in the right place and I'm very happy.

'Marco [Silva] has given me so much confidence, given me the freedom to just enjoy myself and if I make a mistake, just go again.”
