Petr Cech is one of the most iconic names in the Premier League history and will hope that his son Damian can do the same – albeit with one of the most important rivals of Chelsea
The son of the legendary former goalkeeper Petr Cech has signed his first professional contract with a Premier League club. The 16-year-old Damian is also a keeper and followed the footsteps of his iconic father by writing a professional deal with a London side.
But instead of Chelsea or Arsenal – the two Premier League parties where Cech Senior put on his gloves – Damian has decided instead to take his first steps in football with Fulham.
He shared a photo of him who signs a deal with the London side next to his parents, wrote: “Forever Dankeful.” Damian was born in 2009 while Cech played for Chelsea.
He previously played for the Blues' Academy, but has opted for professional conditions with Fulham instead of signing the club last year. Intriguing, he also played as a net for the Ice Hockey Club Guildford Phoenix's Under-9.
Cech Senior also played for the side that moved to ice hockey after the end of his football career in 2019.
“That is [hockey] What I wanted to do, “Cech said in 2023 in an interview with The Times. “I played a bit, but then my path was clear in football, so this is a bit like I'm coming back to my childhood.”
“Well, I had Hasek, one of the best ice hockey goalkeepers ever, an absolute legend from the Czech Republic,” Cech added. “I wanted to be like him and that was one of my attractions for ice hockey.
Cech, 43, can also count Oxford City Stars, Chelmsford Chieftains, Belfast Giants as his ice hockey workers. Away from Hockey Cech also claimed the role of Chelsea's technical and performance advisor in June 2019.

But he left the club three years later after the takeover of Todd Boehly at Stamford Bridge. Asked if he could possibly return to football, he said: “It depends on it.
“I am not the youngest, so it depends on my health and my motivation. But I enjoyed my time here at Chelmsford because of the people and the boys in the dressing room.
“Let's see what will come and it also depends on my future in terms of working in football again or not. I will leave the door open. I will see what comes in in the summer and then I will make my decisions.”
In the meantime, Cech is also a sharp musician and regularly uploads videos that plays the drums to YouTube.
