OFFICIAL: UEFA Rejects Real Madrid’s Appeal – Sanctions on Mbappé, Rüdiger stand

UEFA has officially announced that Real Madrid's profession has been rejected, which means that the previously imposed sanctions against Kylian Mbappé, Antonio Rüdeliger and Dani Ceballos remain in force.

UEFA statement:

During the UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg on 12 March, where Atlético Madrid Real Madrid beat 1-0, Rüdiger, Mbappé and Ceballos appeared to have violated the basic rules of decent behavior, Article 11 (2) (B) of the UEFA Disclary Regulations.

Final decision: The appeal of Real Madrid has been rejected. The decision of UEFA's control, ethics and disciplinary body (CEDB) of 4 April 2025 is maintained. (Related: UEFA confirmed suspensions of one competition for Mbappé and Rüdeliger in European competitions, suspended for a year)

In addition, after the game of 28 April, where Arsenal Real Madrid defeated 3-0, the club was charged with racist behavior incidents, in which Article 14 (2) of the disciplinary regulations of UEFA was violated.

Final decision: Real Madrid's profession was also rejected. The decision of 28 April 2025 of the CEDB, which includes a fine of € 15,000, has been confirmed.

This statement means all sanctions, including the suspended prohibition for Mbappé and Rüdiger and the fine imposed on the club, remain completely valid.
