Barcelona will make a final attempt to sign Luis Diaz from Liverpool, with club officials who prepare a final approach before they accept the defeat in their pursuit of the Colombian winger.
Barca was turned upside down at the end of last week when their Prime -white Nico Williams decided to sign a new contract with Athletic Club instead.
Diaz was on their list anyway and was even approached in the days concerning the rejection of the Williams. But sources in Liverpool have confirmed that they expect to fight again to keep him in the club.
Diaz has caused a problem lately, it can be revealed.
His representatives have been received in the past year for improved contract conditions, insofar as some senior figures have been frustrated by his camp.
Liverpool has already made it clear that they do not want to sell the 28-year-old attacker the Saga is not over yet.
Growing interest
Barcelona's interest in Diaz has been growing since April, when Liverpool's position was that they would not keep the player with violence if he wanted to leave.
This led the representatives of Diaz to go more seriously with potential lovers, aimed at Barcelona as the leaders.
The pursuit of the Catalan club then became public in May, when Barcelona sports director Deco confirmed their interest.
Saudi Arabian Side Al Nassr also came into battle and made contact in the same period.
Although the player declared publicly a month ago that he was happy in Liverpool, his representatives still urged improved contract conditions behind the scenes – with a view to leave if they are not met.
Liverpool has made the situation tired, but messages from the club insist that they intend to keep him unless a high bid comes in that is too good to reject.
We can reveal that Liverpool would appreciate Diaz for £ 75 million, which could hardly achieve Barcelona.
Bayern is also interested
This is a very difficult week in Liverpool and understandably their position is only hardened after the tragic death of Diogo Jota in a car accident. The loss has brought the team closer and strengthens the wishes of the club to keep important players together in a difficult time.
Moreover, Sources close to Liverpool indicate that the pressure of the players will not influence the decisions of the club, because the Reds insist that the full control of the future of Diaz will remain firm in their hands.
Barcelona is expected to respect Liverpool's current position, but will probably extend their interest in a different formal approach soon.
Bayern Munich has also been associated with Diaz and is supposed to make progress in personal conditions, although no agreement has been reached with Liverpool.
Diaz himself could be interested in Bayern, but is supposed to have his heart on a move to Barcelona. It is his priority at the moment, when the preseason in Liverpool is about to start.
Now Deco tries to create special conditions to sign a player who would bring a new style to Barca's left wing.
