Viktor Gyokees seems destined to join Arsenal this summer with Manchester United who loses their interest in the sporty Lisbon star, despite Ruben Amorim, who rather gets the best out of the Swede
Viktor Gyokeres will probably continue to become a member of Arsenal in a Bumperdeal this summer with Manchester United who stops their interest in rush hour.
But the sporty Lisbon star has still greeted United head coach Ruben Amorim for his influence in a new profile interview with France Football.
The Gunners and Sporting are in advanced conversations about a deal for Gyokees, who has agreed with the Portuguese giants and already personal conditions with the Premier League side in the last year of his deal.
And although a final reimbursement between the clubs still has to be agreed, there is so much confidence that United has changed all their attention elsewhere.
Yet Gyokees seems to have nothing but praise for Amorim, who has been struggling since stopping sport for Old Trafford halfway through last season when United finished 15th in the competition and the Europa League final lost to Spurs.
“We won two championships in a row, for the first time in 71 years. It is an incredible achievement, and of course Ruben Amorim played a major role in that,” said Gyokees. “I can't thank him enough. The playing style we had under his orders suited me perfectly.”
The full piece still has to be released, but L'Equipe, the brother or sister from the France Football, has run a teaser on Tuesday afternoon.
And Gyokees added that he could understand why Amorim would choose to leave for the fierce lights of the Premier League – even if he was surprised by the decision.
Gyokees insisted that there was “no resentment” opposite his former boss, added: “It was a shock. It never happened to me to see a manager leave in the middle of the season when everything went well. It was surprising, but I fully understand his decision.”
Gyokees and Benjamin Sesko have been the two top goals of Arsenal for the new season, with the first now apparently the preferred option. A dive for a left -sided forward, possibly Rodrygo from Real Madrid, is also something that Arsenal wants to do before the transfer window closes at the end of next month.
There is a growing conviction that the Brazilian international will become available after he has fallen the pecking order under the new Bernabeu -boss Xabi Alonso.
