Main suitor for Barcelona star drops interest in €60m deal

Barcelona has enough on their plate again this summer, because they hold the approval of their VIP chairs rental agreement, which will determine what things they can do in the transfer window. However, there has been a suggestion that the Blaugrana would like to load one or two players who are not defined starters.

That was seen by a series of rumors in the Catalan press around Marc Casado and Fermin Lopez, both of which are linked to Chelsea. The other important 'candidate' for a sale is defender Ronald Araujo. The Uruguayan has made it clear that he would like to continue, but there are elements within the club that would have his exit has a release clause of € 60-70m valid until July 15.

Earlier, Aaraujo was on the agenda in Bayern Munich and Manchester United, but the most recent concrete interest was by Juventus. The Bianconeri made a bid of € 35 million for Araujo in January, which was rejected before Araujo drew a new deal with Barcelona until 2031.

However, Sport reports that Juventus has dropped their interest in Araujo. The most important advocate for his signature was sports director Cristiano Giuntioli, who was recently replaced by Damien Comolli. Since then, Juventus Pierre Kalulu has also signed from AC Milan for € 15 million, which exclude Arajo from their plans. Matteo Moretto has also reported that La Vecchia Signora has not reopened with Araujo.

Araujo lost his place in Barcelona's start XI for the first time in a few years this season, and will be desperate to win it back, with Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez for him. If Araujo is that this can overcome him under Hansi film, that could change the matter, but it seems that his future is in Barcelona for the time being.
