Manchester United is still working on a deal to bring Bryan Mbeumo to Old Trafford and Ruben Amorim wants the Cameroon star in the building before the club's preview season
Manchester United remains locked up in conversations with Brentford about their attempt to sign Bryan Mbeumo.
United is convinced that they can close a deal with Brentford for Mbeumo, even though they have had two bids that have already been hit back. Brentford rejected the first range of United of £ 55 million for Mbeumo and then hit a second bid of £ 62.5 million – the same figure that the Red Devils paid for Matheus Cunha.
United is expected to go to £ 65 million to reach an agreement with Brentford on Mbeumo, with negotiations that are underway between the two clubs about the reimbursement and the structure of payments.
Ruben Amorim wants Mbeumo on board for when United leaves for their three-game pre-season tour through the US on July 22, where they play West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton.
United has already signed Cunha and the young defender Diego Leon and hope to add Mbeumo to their team the next week, while Amorim builds up his team again.
A new striker is the next position that United wants to tackle, after he has seen Liam Delap join Chelsea and with Amorim's former sporting Lisbon Vooruit Viktor Gyokeres who approaches a move to Arsenal.
United is now looking at alternative no .9 goals, including Hugo Ekitike by Eintracht Frankfurt.
United has also been offered former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is a free agent after his contract with the Toffees expired at the end of last season.

The club also wants to discharge a number of players who are surplus for requirements, including Marcus Rashford.
The graduated Red Devils Academy, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho, all told you to stay away from the training after they have informed the club they want to continue.
United will now try to find lovers for all five players to raise further money for Amorim to work with in the transfer market.
