Ange Postecoglou and Thomas Frank came to a report near an extraordinary work exchange.
The Australian was fired last month as Spurs boss, despite ling the European League side, which put an end to a waiting period of 17 years on a large trophy and insured the qualification for the Champions League.
The sad Premier League campaign of Spurs, who saw the side ending 17th, turned out to be unacceptable and was replaced by Brentford -Baas Thomas Frank.
The athletics has now claimed that the 59-year-old was contacted by the West-London outfit after Frank's departure, a movement, if completed, the two Premier League bosses would have exchanged jobs before the new campaign.
The outlet claims that Brentford Director of Football Phil Giles held 'informal discussions' with the Australian, but he was not interviewed for the role, which eventually went to set-piece coach Keith Andrews.
Both parties reportedly agreed that continuous 'was not the best option'.
Postecoglou has continued to dismiss unemployment since his tracks, but he is connected to a role in Major League Soccer with Los Angeles FC and Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli.
In the meantime, Brentford enters the new season with 44-year-old Andrews, after he has made the daring decision to promote the unproven coach.
Andrews started his professional gaming career at Wolves and also played more than 70 games at both MK down and Blackburn.
He won 35 caps for the Republic of Ireland and represented his country on Euro 2012.
Since he moved to coaching, he has worked as an assistant at MK Dons and within the Ireland attitude. He had worked at Sheffield United until he took on his role in Brentford in Brentford last summer.
Brentford director of Football Giles described Andrews as 'a very good fit' for the track.
“He can continue with everyone, he is very open and he is a student,” Giles told the official website of Brentford.
'Keith is clear in what he wants, he is detailed, and the players and employees love and respect him. He understands the players in the building and the way we played and trained under Thomas Frank.
'Keith will bring his own evolution, but will not start again, so hopefully we can make some rapid progress.
'He is a very good coach and has clear ideas about how he wants the team to improve. We were looking for someone, not just to maintain what we did, but actually try to get better. '
