Mourinho breaks his silence on potential CR7 reunion at Fenerbahce

Jose Mourinho has responded to rumors that Cristiano Ronaldo could move to Fenerbahce when his contract expires next summer, 12 years after he last played under the manager.

The Portuguese boss arrived at Real Madrid in 2010 after a memorable Champions League win at Inter Milan and had the luxury of a star-studded squad, including the gifted forward who was reaching the prime of his career.

In three seasons together, Ronaldo scored an impressive 168 goals for Mourinho's Galacticos and helped the team to La Liga and Copa del Rey trophies.

Mourinho has since managed Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, Roma and Fenerbahce, while his former player ended up at Saudi side Al-Nassr, where he has struck 16 times in 19 games this season.

However, his contract with the club expires in the summer and speculation is mounting over his next stop as he enters the 23rd year of his iconic career.

There has been talk of a reunion with former boss Mourinho and the 'Special One' addressed such reports at a press conference.

He said: 'Cristiano Ronaldo will not come. The first reason is that I have three good attackers and I don't want another one.

“Cristiano will always be Cristiano, but I don't want him because I am happy with my attackers. He has the money he makes in Saudi Arabia and a 1,000-goal goal. What could motivate him to come to Turkey other than the beauty of Istanbul?'

Mourinho currently has a wealth of attacking options with Edin Dzeko, Cenk Tosun and Youssef En-Nesyri, who have scored 19 goals between them this season.

He added: 'I don't really like the January transfer window because the player who comes needs a certain amount of time.

'I never say no to a transfer, but I don't knock on the door of Ali Bey or Acun Bey and say I want a transfer.'

Fenerbahce currently sit second in the Turkish league, just three points behind leaders Galatasaray, while they sit 15th in the Europa League.

Both Ronaldo and Mourinho have been embroiled in off-field feuds of late, with the 61-year-old directing his anger towards bitter rival Pep Guardiola in recent times.

The Man City manager was asked if he was about to be sacked after recently conjuring up the image of Mourinho, holding up six fingers to Liverpool fans to indicate how many titles he had won. The Portuguese had done the same in his final days at United.

The Spaniard said: 'I hope not in my case… He won three, I won six… but we are the same like that.'

Mourinho disagreed with the comment and hit back at the Spaniard: 'Guardiola said something to me yesterday. He won six trophies and I won three, but I won fair and square.

'If I lost, I want to congratulate my opponent because he was better than me. I don't want to win with 150 lawsuits.'

Ronaldo, meanwhile, has been embroiled in a bizarre back-and-forth with former Real teammate Rafael van der Vaart after the Dutchman said he 'never saw it' [Ronaldo’s] penis'. One reference he clarified suggested that the Portuguese were always training and never showering.

The icon posted, “Who is that guy?”, reposting the comments on Instagram.

The Dutchman had told talkSPORT: 'He never left the house! I always tell this joke: Ronaldo is the only player whose penis I've never seen. He was always the first to train and the last to leave.”
