Manchester United hopes to organize the World Cup Final of 2035 in a new stadium with 100,000 seats – with the help of Lord Seb Coe.
United announced plans to rebuild Old Trafford in March and appointed two -time Olympic gold medal winner COE to spear the operation.
Initially, Coe de Task Force Old Trafford Regeneration led.
The group was set up to explore options for developing a new stadium and regenerating the surrounding area that also contained the Gary Neville.
But COE will now be influential in the next phase of the project after he is mentioned as the chairman of the Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC) for the regeneration project of Old Trafford.
COE will now play a key role in the next phase of the project, since the plans are progressing to supply a new stadium with 100,000 seats in Old Trafford, which estimates an amazing £ 2 billion.
He said in a statement: “I am glad that I am being asked to be the chairman who is designated from the proposed Old Trafford Mayoral Development Corporation.
“During my career, I have seen the difference that sport can make regeneration led by sport in promoting strong communities and acting as a catalyst for economic growth.
“That certainly was released for the Olympic Games and Paralympics 2012 in London – and now I believe, the moment of larger Manchester has come.
“Working with Trafford Council and the mayor, there is a huge potential to bring new houses and jobs to the area around the Manchester United Stadium.

United said they are looking for public financing for infrastructure of the £ 2 billion project – but not looking for money for the stadiumbuild.
The appointment of COE must be signed by the government – but that is considered a formality.
