Luis Diaz has been associated with a summer transfer to Barcelona, but the Reds star would like an insurance policy
Liverpool Luis Diaz wants to place a clause in every contract with Barcelona that would come into play if the club does not register him. The Catalan club remains interested in signing the Colombia International and works together with the player's agents, despite little interest from the Reds in a deal.
Diaz, 28, is under contract to Anfield until 2027 and has been constantly associated with Barcelona for the past 12 months. The attacker was an important player under Arne Slot in the past term, but Barca Sporting Director Deco has a high degree.
But any interest in a movement would be tempered by concern about Barcelona's financial situation. A year ago Dani Olmo could not be registered in Camp Nou, despite completing a transfer and he could only play in 2025.
That is why representatives wanted to protect their customers. Attempts to sign Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao seemed to come to a halt before the winger signed a new contract with San Mames, because of late attempts by the Entourage players to protect their customer.

Prior to his return before the preseason, Diaz has suggested that there are negotiations about his future at Anfield that takes place. The Premier League winner was asked by the Colombian influencer La Liendra about his plans.
“We are there, negotiating,” Diaz said. “We will see what can be achieved, for us and for the club. We will try to do our best and make the best decision.
“We are negotiating, talking to the club, with Liverpool, with everyone approaching us. But I am very calm where I am, you know, very happy. I am now trying to make the best decision.”
