Kylian Mbappe faced Paris Saint-Germain, but was unable to inspire his Real Madrid side into a positive result when the French champions rise in the club World Cup
Kylian Mbappe had the clumsiness to meet an ex in the semi -final of the club World Cup – and it didn't go well right away. A year after free from leaving Paris Saint-Germain, the Frenchman was forced to confront his former side, a case weeks after he saw them claim Champions League Glory that has arisen to him so far.
The side of Luis Enrique continued quickly and entered the United States as favorites to collect another trophy. Mbappe and Real Madrid stood in the way in the Metlife Stadium in New York, albeit not long.
But even before the reunion went, things didn't go smoothly for Mbappe. The game was delayed for the first time with 10 minutes after both parties were confronted with heavy traffic on the way to the game from Manhattan.
The semi-finalists could only complete truncated warm-ups if they offer to go on the field quickly after their arrival. And during the last-minute preparations, Mbappe's night started with an apology.
The World Cup winner hit a ball in the direction of Doel but missed the target. Instead, a FIFA volunteer took the victim of the effort and fell to the ground that his face held.
Mbappe, however, responded well and rushed to the victim when a crowd gathered around them. The 26-year-old tried to comfort the wounded game, checked his well-being and looked to help them win their calmness back.
And after the recovery of the volunteer, things didn't go better for Mbappe. The superstar became on goal when the winners of the Champions League Real Madrid from 2024 fell to beat.
It took only nine minutes for Los Blancos to find herself 2-0. Fabian Ruiz opened the score with six minutes on the clock before former Barcelona Ace Ousmane Dembele continued his spectacular year to double the management.
The La Liga side was unable to ride the progress of PSG, because Ruiz found his second goal after 24 minutes. The Ligue 1 champions were then able to take their foot off the gas and make changes during the rest of the game before Goncalo Ramos scored with another three minutes to close the progress to the final.
Instead of goals, the Night of Mbappe was confronted with disappointment when he greeted figures of his past in Achraf Hakimi, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Marquinhos with a warm embrace. The next steps from Mbappe will free him time before the preseason starts.
