Revealed: Arsenal and Sporting Lisbon ‘haven’t spoken for three days

Arsenal is supposed to fall at the last obstacle in their pursuit of sporty Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres after three days without communication with the Portuguese side, according to reports.

The North London club has previously been chased in their desire to seduce the Sweden International to the Emirates in an attempt to sharpen their attacking ranks.

Gyokeres is supposed to have agreed the conditions of the club and is enthusiastic about a switch to the Premier League.

But Mail Sport reported on Wednesday that the negotiations were stuck on a bottleneck about the asking price of the star.

Gyokeres believes that he has an honorary agreement with which he can leave the club for a fee of € 60 million, plus another € 10 million (£ 51.7 million plus £ 8.6 million).

Despite the fact that Arsenal reportedly offers € 65 million, plus another € 15 million (£ 56 million plus £ 12.9 million), but the Portuguese club is now supposed to be strong at a fixed € 70 million (£ 60.4 million).

After conversations came to a halt this weekend about the issue, such as per Portuguese outlet a bola, it has now been some time since the two parties discussed the transfer.

The break in the procedure could still mean the worst in front of Mikel Arteta and for Gyokees, who is said to be so enthusiastic about a move to Arsenal that he is approaching that he does not return to the training for the season with the club in Alcochete on Friday.

Arsenal Sporting Director Andrea Berta led the Arsenal delegation that flew to the Iberian peninsula for conversations with the Primeira Liga side, alongside Gyoke's agent Kenan Mert.

A Bola claims that Mert claimed that former sports director Hugo Viana – who is now at the Premier League rival Manchester City – offered the player a guarantee that he could leave during this summer's window.

The impasse could be for the Gunners, where the deal looks increasingly challenging to cross the line.

The former Coventry City and Brighton Striker currently still have three years on his contract with the Portuguese giants, although it seems unlikely that he will see those conditions if things are standing.

The Swedish International scored a stunning 54 goals for the Portuguese giants in the past term in all competitions.

The Gunners have already signed midfielder Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad for £ 60 million, goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea for £ 5 million and have reportedly completed a £ 12 million step for Brentford Captain Christian Norgaard.

They are also ready to offer for Chelsea wing player Noni Madueke and are connected to Crystal Palace Talisman Ebereechi Eze.
