Mascherano details Inter Miami’s fitness plan for Messi

Fresh from their run at the Club World Cup, Inter Miami has a powerful return to Major League Soccer this season. After Saturday's victory over CF Montréal, the team set out on Wednesday evening to include the New England revolution in a rear -up matchup.

With an impressive version, they all kept the points and climbed in fifth place in the classification of the Eastern Conference.

Messi plays from start to finish

After the game in Gillette Stadium, head coach Javier Mascherano went on stage to clear pre-game uncertainty about the involvement of Lionel Messi. The captain completed his second full game in a row, after playing the full 90 minutes against Montréal at the weekend.

“We always knew that Leo would play,” said Mascherano during the press conference after the game. “What we hoped was that the pace of the game might give us a chance to let him rest at one point. Missed him early. But as soon as New England scored to make it 1-2, we chose to keep him on the field.”

Immediately after tackling Messi's full-game performance, Mascherano withdrew the curtain over the strategy of Inter Miami to manage the workload of their star player in the coming weeks.

“We are fully aware that we have to give Leo a break at some point,” acknowledged the Argentinian coach in the press room. “It is just a matter of finding the right time to do this, especially with tough competitions with high bets such as the two with which we have confronted this week and those who have ahead of us.”

No rest for Messi

Messi has been in Non -Stop action since the end of April, when Inter Miami was confronted with the Vancouver WhiteCaps in the second stage of the Concacaf Champions Cup semi -finals. Since then, the number 10 has played 16 consecutive matches – a debilitating run with Major League Soccer lackets, world cup qualifications with Argentina and the Club World Cup. He completed two of those competitions – the qualifications of the World Cup against Chile and Colombia.

Thanks to this packaged schedule, Messi has supplied striking versions that the Inter Miami process have reformed. His leadership and playmaking turned the tide for the wrestling team, so Las Garzas secured a historic club of World Cup run and earning the kind of international spotlights that the franchise has long pursued.

Back in Fort Lauderdale

After a whirlwind on the road and abroad, Messi and Inter Miami Squad are preparing for a long -awaited home. This Saturday they will compete against Nashville SC in Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale – since the beginning of June on their first game at Thuisgras.
