Ebereechi Eze remains high on the shortlist of Arsenal for the summer transfer window and the Gunners are planning to increase their pursuit of the Crystal Palace star
Arsenal is planning to make direct contact with Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish while raising their pursuit of Ebereechi Eze. The Gunners have already had conversations with the representatives of Eze after they have been warned of his £ 67.5 million release clause.
The international of England could become the fourth signing of Arsenal of the summer transfer window after he already welcomed Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard, of whom the last Thursday was announced in a £ 12 million deal.
That costs the summer spending of the Gunners up to £ 77 million, but they are not ready yet. Emirates Chiefs keep talking to Sporting Lisbon and Chelsea about movements for Viktor Gyokees and Noni Madueke respectively.
Now the Guardian report reports that Arsenal is preparing to have conversations with Parish, which will probably not consider offers for Eze, 27, under his release clause. The Gunners left the midfielder off from 13 years before he came through the ranks at Queens Park Rangers.
In the meantime, it is said that Arsenal is convinced that graduated Academy Ethan Nwaneri will sign a new long -term agreement in the midst of interest from Chelsea and clubs in Germany. The current contract of the 18-year-old will expire next summer, but Mikel Arteta and Co. want to hold him.
Nwaneri could find playing time difficult to come next season as Eze and Madueke were signed. But Arteta would like to reform his attack, with Gyokees expecting to lead the border if Arsenal can grow a deal after weeks of negotiations.
Parish admitted that he was 'surprised' due to the lack of interest in Eze last summer. “I was surprised. Really surprised,” the Paleischef told Sky Sports. “I mean, the man is just an excellent football player, an excellent person.”
Tottenham is also linked to Eze, who scored the winning goal in the FA Cup final of May. Former Premier League -midfielder Danny Murphy believes that the Palace star would be a 'game change' for Arsenal.
Does Arsenal have to pay £ 67.5 million for Ebereechi Eze? Say in the commentary part.
“There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that he is able to play for a larger team, I'm talking about Champions League level,” said Murphy during an interview with Goooner News. “If you have Eze in the team, he will make you stronger because he is so talented and he can play in so many different positions.
“He is a game changer, he has that great skill that does not have many players. He is able to make some magical moments that win games without even playing well … In terms of his own ambition, I would imagine that he wants to play the highest level of football, what the Champions League is. It would not be surprising to see him.”
