Manchester United has so far drawn only two new faces this summer, but there has been a lot of change behind the scenes with a large number of stars that select new team numbers
Manchester United has confirmed that four stars have decided to change squad figures after a large repeat. The Red Devils had already announced that Marcus Rashford had given up the club's iconic number 10 shirt, with the summer signing of Matheus Cunha the figure.
And it has now been announced that Diogo Dalot has chosen to change its shirt number prior to the Premier League campaign of 2025/26. The Portuguese defender will now attract the number two shirt as a Red Devil.
He has demanded the figure of the Swedish center-ridge Victor Lindelof, who left the shirt with his contract at the end of last season. Dalot, 26, has attracted 20 since his arrival from Porto in 2018.
Previous owners of the number two shirt are Brazilian right back Rafael and iconic former star Gary Neville. The change of Dalot is not the only change behind the scenes.
The Red Devils have also confirmed that younger Shea Lacey 61 has claimed, Bendito Mantato will now wear 70, while Reece Munro has switched to 65. United has also concluded a deal for the young defender Sonny Aljofree to join League Two Side Notts County.
He wrote a new deal with the club before he leaves. Another man who signed on the dotted line this summer is Cunha, who has since chosen the number 10 shirt.
“Yes, wow. It's something you always dream of [wearing the No. 10]”Cunha said about his new song.” I can mention many players who use this shirt. It's so easy for me.
“Of course I think that the one I always think of when I see this song in this shirt in front of me was Wayne Rooney. He was someone I grew up to see him play and I have [watched] Many games now.

“Then I exchanged shirts with Marcus [Rashford, after a game] I also have his shirt in my house. But of course we know that many players have used this shirt – [Ruud] Van Nistelrooy, [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic. “
He added: “It is the dream, not just to use the shirt, but with all the history they have around the song, it is something beautiful that I have the privilege of doing it.
“With each song it will be a pleasure to use the shirt. But yes, this is something else. Then the responsibility comes of course and I hope I can do everything as goals, helps the team.”
