Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is now the clear left-wing target of Barcelona, according to Sky in Germany.
Barca is expected to try to agree a deal and is “willing to go all-in” ..
This is because Liverpool has rejected their claims for Luis Diaz and Nico Williams has signed a new deal at Athletic Club.
Sky Sports News has already reported that Rashford would like to join Barcelona.
The attacker has returned to Carrington, despite offering extra free time and trains away from the first team, with the help of the medical and rehabilitation.
The 27-year-old is one of the five men from UTD players who can explore a potential relocation after they have expressed a desire to leave.
Matheus Cunha took the No 10 shirt from Rashford, who said he wanted a “new challenge” before he came to Aston Villa for the second half of last season.
One source has told Sky Sports News that it has been made clear to Rashford that he is not in the plans of Ruben Amorim, and the International of England wants to pursue opportunities elsewhere.
There were no official offers for Rashford after he returned from his loan in Villa.
Sky Sports News has previously reported that Rashford wants to play Champions League football next season, but is not willing to move to London. His representatives are also against their client who is involved in a partial exchange agreement.
How the door opens for Rashford's Barca Dream …
Senior Football News Editor Lyall Thomas from Sky Sports News:
Barcelona remains Rashford's preferred destination if he leaves United this summer.
And intriguingly the door would open on a move to Catalonia.
That is because in the past week Barcelona has seen their hope in more or less extinguished Liverpool's Diaz or Athletic Club's Nico Williams.
Financial issues remain a concern in Barcelona. They have brought tight financial parameters by Laliga and a recent history of not registering players because of problems with the financing of those deals.
Rashford's prospect on a switch to Barcelona now looks more likely than two weeks ago – but how a deal will be structured, will take some work in view of the financial issues of Barcelona, the wage of Rashford at Manchester United and the preference of the Old Trafford Club to punish another loan instead of another loan.
