Barcelona is aware that outputs are needed if they return to the 1: 1 rule of La Liga and can therefore register new signing sessions. Ansu Fati has already left, and although Pablo Torre will soon come to Mallorca, more players have to leave before the Catalans reach their objectives.
The will of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Andreas Christensen and Ronald Araujo are considered main candidates to leave, but there are others who may continue if their appreciation is reached. And a player who falls into this category is Marc Casado.
Casado had a nice first half of last season, after he had settled as a normal starter for Frenkie de Jong. But he lost his place in recent months, and with Marc Bernal who returned from injuries prior to the new campaign that starts in August, he is expected to continue in the pecking order.
That is why Barcelona has not closed the door on the possibility of selling Casado this summer, with any offers in the region of € 50 million that are expected to be considered. And they could come from the Premier League, with a dispute revealing that Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in signing the 21-year-old Pivot.
Arsenal and Chelsea have already asked first questions to determine the availability of Casado, while Man United has not yet made contact – although he is seen as an alternative to Manuel Ugarte, who had a difficult first season in Old Trafford.
In a sense, it would be wise for Barcelona to sell Casado while his shares are high – especially if he is not planned for regular first team action next season. However, it would still be a blow to him to leave, considering how well he played during the 2024-25 campaign.
