Heavyweight Austen Lane could look at a UFC release.
The heavy batters were out on Saturday in UFC Nashville when UFC Knock -out King Derrick Lewis against the 6'7 ″ skyscraper Tallison Teixeira fought in the main event of the evening.
The main map saw light heavyweight Tuco Tokkos save its UFC career by returning from back-to-back losing with a comeback entry.
In the fight after that, Austen Lane tried to get back on the right track, but the former NFL star eventually failed a hunter who made their heavyweight debut.

Austen Lane suffers back-to-back losses against Vitor Petrino at UFC Nashville
Lane, a former defensive ending for the chiefs of Kansas City, Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears, was easily removed by opponent Vitor Petrino for his second consecutive loss in 2025.
Petrino brought Lane to the opening round a little more than a minute and grabbed his back minutes later.
Petrino insured a followed choke to tap Lane and handed him the first loss of submission of his career.
Lane was Petrino's heavyweight debut, which he passed with flag and pennant to come back to the win column after a few losses in light heavyweight against Anthony Smith and Dustin Jacoby.
Austen Lane with the danger to be released by UFC
Lane may not have a UFC future after Nashville.
Since the signing at the Premier Promotion of the Contender Series of Dana White in 2022, Lane has only won in the Octagon once – a unanimous decision -making effort about Karate Killer Robelis Despaigne last October.
Lane now has a record of 1-4 (1 NC) in the UFC after Petrino, his fourth defeat (sixth general).
The 37-year-old NFL veteran can be on the chopping block of the UFC, after the latest series of hunters released from the promotion.
