41-year-old former UFC title challenger retires to launch new career after UFC Nashville defeat

A 15-Vecht UFC veteran officially mentioned her career on Saturday evening.

Derrick Lewis hit Tallison Teixeira from the Main Event of 35 seconds UFC Nashville.

For that, controversy was beaten when Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson suffered a split decision lock against Gabriel Bonfim in the co-headliner.

However, it was a provisional match that was perhaps the most emotional moment of the night.

“There are many people thanks. But first of all I want to thank myself for doing all these bastards – hard work. I want to thank myself for being a pioneer for women in this sport. I want to thank myself for picking myself and dusting myself every time I was taken down.”

What is the next step for Lauren Murphy?
