Real Madrid opt against star’s buy back option until 2026

Real Madrid has made a final call to bring Argentina International Nico Paz back to the club this summer.

Xabi Alonso is aimed at defensive reinforcements as part of his squadrefit with only one arrival planned while he wants to stay at the La Liga panel limit

Benfica star Alvaro Carreras is expected to become a member of fellow newcomers Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold-with Franco Mastantuono Landing in August-Nadat he turned 18.

Former Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti opted for a daring call on Paz last summer when he sold the highly rated midfielder to Serie A Side Como for a fee of € 6 million.

However, because the club is still looking for their options on Paz, they ran a structured exit package match the side of Cesc Faregas.

This included three separate drill-back options that would come into effect in 2025, 2026 and 2027 respectively.

The first of these, worth € 8 million, was activated at the beginning of the summer, but according to Sky Sports Italia (via football Italia) it has been since then.

Further rumors hinted in Real Madrid and reached for Como, to see if an alternative agreement could be reached – but Alonso has now chosen it – according to Mundo Deportivo.

The situation will be reassessed in 2026, if Paz maintains its level in the Serie A, behind a solid first year under Fabregas.

Fabegas led Como to promote back to the Italian flight at the end of 2023/24, and he sent the team to a respectable 10th place last season, with Paz in the heart of his plans.

The playmaker born in Canaria yielded six league goals with only two Como players who scored more and eight competition assists, only improved by three players in the Serie A.

A similar campaign in 2025/26 will keep him firmly on Real Madrid's radar, despite the eagerness of Alonso to give Arda Guler a chance in his plans.
