Max Holloway does not think that the legendary run of Ilia Topuria is as good as it is made.
On July 19, Max Holloway returns to the Octagon for the first time since his UFC 308 loss against Ilia Topuria when he defends his BMF title against Dustin Poirier in the UFC 318 Main Event.
Although a large majority of the UFC fan base assumed that 'blessed' would be frustrated when he discovered that Topuria also went to lightweight, Holloway admitted that he was the 'happiest man on earth' when 'El Matador' won the title.
And that is because the former featherweight champion believes that he can earn a rematch from the Spaniard with an emphatic achievement in Louisiana.

Max Holloway has discredited the legendary run of Topuria
Topuria quickly becomes one of the biggest stars in the sport that has joined an elite group of hunters to win a title in two weight classes after switching off Charles Oliveira on UFC 317.
Before he knocked out 'do Bronx' knockout knockout, Topuria Alexander Volkanovski and Holloway Back-to-Back spread, making one of the most incredible runs in the history of sport.
Nevertheless, Holloway has somewhat triggered the impressive run of Topuria, which adds context to his victories over Volkanovski and Oliveira.
“It's just difficult, good. Yes, he has defeated the names and you can't deny that, but if you look, it just sucks when you look at everything that was going on when you look at that people,” Holloway told Shakmma.
“People came out what he (came from), that's a bit crazy, but people just look at the names, they don't look at the album, they are just like 'Oh Alex was the champion', and then me and then Charles.
“Charles was on a one -Vechtwin streak, at the end of the day, they are just moments and they are just names … the man does what he should do,” he continued.
Can we see a rematch between Topuria and Holloway at lightweight?
After winning the belt of 155 pounds, Topuria faced Paddy Pimblett, but Dana White later revealed that the fight will probably not happen.
The UFC boss also revealed that Arman Tsarukyan still has a way to go before he gets a title shot and takes it out of the mix.
And so with an emphatic victory over 'The Diamond' over UFC 318, Holloway was undoubtedly able to add to the lightweight title mix and because of his history with Topuria he was able to be at the top of the top of the list.
