Enrique breaks silence on apparent ‘SLAP’ on Pedro after PSG beat Chelsea

PSG boss Luis Enrique has searched to explain his role in a full-time battle after his side lost to Chelsea in the club World Cup final.

After the last whistle, players and coaches from both parties also came together in a fight with Enrique.

During the Melee Enrique seemed to use his hand to make contact with New Chelsea who signed Joao Pedro in what some have called a blow.

Pedro hit the deck, with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma in the vicinity.

Enrique then looked to explain his actions and said he was trying to act as a peace handle.

'At the end of the game there is a lot of tension. It is a situation that everyone can be avoided, “said the PSG boss.

“I think that makes sense. I am going to prevent my players from continuing in that fight and from that moment pushes and pushes from everyone.

“I think that's not the best thing to do.

'It is a consequence of the tension, the result of the situation of the competition and I have nothing to add anymore.

It remains unclear at this stage whether Enrique is confronted with some punishment for his role in the Scrum.

Chelsea won the game in New Jersey 3-0 thanks to Colmer's Double and a strike from Pedro.

It was a bad affair in which PSG's Joao Neves was sent to pull the hair from Marc Cucurella.

Referee Alireza Faghani waved the red card after VAR intervened.

Neves was supposed to have had violent behavior.

Asked about the incident with Enrique after full -time, Pedro said: 'We are world champions and that is what matters.

'It is normal at the end of the day. Both teams wanted to win and that happens.

“It's all part of it.”
