Chelsea’s Club World Cup hero Cole Palmer gets stopped for a selfie by NYPD cop after celebrating win over PSG

Cole Palmer was seen with a selfie with a New York police officer while making an exit from his hotel after Chelsea's Club World Cup Triumph.

Palmer, 23, scored twice and set up another when the blues for a 3-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain strolled in the Metlife Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The International of England played an important role in the victory and later received the player of the tournament prize – who was handed over by US President Donald Trump.

Only a few days before, Palmer was seen on a scooter on Times Square, not comfortably by the New York audience that might not be familiar with his references.

After his stunning performance in the front of 81,000 fans in the Metlife Stadium, it seems that everyone now knows about the Chelsea star.

In a video obtained by DailyMail.com, Palmer was seen that he stopped on Monday afternoon with a selfie with a police officer in New York.

Palmer left the peninsula hotel on Monday morning when he probably finished his stay in the US – spent weeks on tour with Chelsea while they fought through the club phases of the club.

Palmer was one of the Chelsea stars on stage – on Sunday – that remained somewhat stunned by the presence of President Trump when the team lifted the trophy.

The American president had been given the honor to present the trophy to Blues captain Reece James, with the expectation that he would go aside because it would be common.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino was seen to lead Trump away from Chelsea players, but the US president stayed in place and stood on either side of James and Sanchez.

The refusal of Trump to leave the stage, Chelsea players seemed stunned with Palmer to say: “What does he do?”

Palmer spoke after the game: “I knew he would be here, but I didn't know he would be in the stands when we lifted the trophy, so I was a bit confused, yes.”

Further light was thrown on the presence of Trump in the trophy presentation, in which his interactions with Chelsea captain James and goalkeeper Sanchez have been revealed.
