TUF 33’s Andreeas Binder hopes to repay ‘gangster’ Chael Sonnen for negotiating $12.5k weight miss

Chael Sonnen paid for the pound of a hunter on the last season of 'The Ultimate Fighter'.

The reality TV program 'The Ultimate Fighter' of the UFC has run 33 seasons, with UFC stars Daniel Cormier and Chael Sonnen returning to the series as coaches for season 33.

History was written on one of the most recent episodes, because the Andreas binder of Ireland (10-2) was allowed to compete on the show, despite a weight miss of 5 pounds.

In the past, hunters who have missed the weight have canceled their fights – but no binder. Coach Sonnen got his back and negotiated $ 12,500 in compensation to Binder's opponent Jeff Creighton to accept the fight. That is $ 2,500 per pound.

Unfortunately, the fight would not go Binder's way after a strong start in round 1, where he hurt Creighton with strikes. Binder eventually lost through majority decision, thinking that they would enter a third round to break a draw.

Andreas Binder says he repays Chael Sonnen with a KO on competition series or UFC

Binder says that his body hit shock during the weight reduction and said it would not have happened if he would fight in week 2 as he had planned.

Binder was asked what it was like for Sonen to recognize his weight miss, so that the Irish prospect of the unprecedented opportunity to compete.

“Chael is a straight gangster,” Binder told Bloody Elbow.

“He really took care of the team. He was really involved with the team. He was every session there.

“He had a lot of hope for me. He said it himself – he thought I would win this season. But it was just not the case,” Binder said.

“Hopefully we can turn this back on a UFC card or a competition series or whatever it is, myself and Jeff. And I will pay Chael back with a knockout,” Binder suggested a rematch with Creighton.

Andreas Binder says that he was 'very close' to finding finishing on 'The Ultimate Fighter'

Binder fought Creighton on Tuf 33, episode 4, 'Blood and Business'.

Binder received the attention of Creighton with several punches in round 1, landed annoying soil and bonk from the upper position.

The momentum started to shift after Creighton opened a cut at the end of round 1, bleeding binder for a dominant round 2.

“It was very close,” Binder said about how close he was to find a finish in round 1.

“I staggered him with a left corner.

“I think it was the fact that I fought for Dana, and it was the first time it was not fighting for fans and my good friends and family. So I rushed it a bit too much.”

Binder went on.

“But I staggered him on the feet with my left hook, if I remember correctly. Then I caught him again with a super hand on the right. There were so many positions where I should have been more patiently instead of running in. I saw him hurt him. I saw him wiggle him a little stumbling.

“So I thought, this is my time. Instead of leaning back, picking my shots, and I would have put him away. Fair Play for Jeff. He recovered well. He fought hard, came back and he won the second round.

“But he knows. I know. Everyone knows – there should have been a third round,” Binder said.
