According to a report from L'Équipe, the relationship between Luis Enrique and Luís Campos has recently deteriorated amid a battle for influence at Paris Saint-Germain.
L'Équipe understands that signs of tensions between the two have been picked up by people around PSG's training center in Poissy, with Campos spending the entire week there – a rarity for the Portuguese sporting director. His conversations with Luis Enrique have sometimes been 'animated' lately.
It comes at a time when Campos is losing his influence. It is a situation related to his contract status. Luis Enrique recently extended until 2027, although this has not been officially confirmed by PSG, while Campos, currently involved in extension talks, sees his current contract expire at the end of the season.
Luis Enrique's increasingly authoritarian management of the team is also a point of contention between the two. There was also disagreement about recruitment. Campos tried several times, albeit unsuccessfully, to convince Luis Enrique to let him buy a centre-forward. However, the Spaniard was steadfast in his position that he did not want either Victor Osimhen or Viktor Gyökeres.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who exchanged views with the pair in recent days, has noted the tensions between Campos and Luis Enrique but is not taking sides.
