OFFICIAL: Djordje Petrovic has joined AFC Bournemouth from Chelsea in £25m move

AFC Bournemouth is pleased to confirm the signing of goalkeeper, Djordje Petrovic, from Chelsea.

The Serbian joins the cherries for a five -year -old deal and will immediately join the team, prior to the tour of the club to the US.

Petrovic, who has 23 Premier League performances to his name, enjoyed a striking season in Ligue 1 Outfit Strasbourg during the 2024/25 campaign.

The 25-year-old played his role when the side finished seventh and insured their place in the UEFA Conference League, therefore called as player of the club's season and received a nomination for the goalkeeper of the Ligue 1 season.

After signing for the club, AFC Bournemouth's president of football activities, Tiago Pinto, shared his thoughts with AFCB.CO.UK: “I am really happy to bring Djordje to the club. The opportunity to sign a player of his caliber was one that we had to take, especially how vital the position of a goalkeeper is.

“We have been looking for the right talent to invest in this area of the field and Djordje has very impressive qualities, as well as a lot of experience for someone who is still young. We are enthusiastic that he is the one who comes to our project and look forward to working with him.”

Petrovic also shared his joy about the move: “I am very happy to be here. I came to Bournemouth because I want to grow and I want to play at the best level. Together with this club, with these facilities, I think we can achieve it. I want to help the team to get the results, improve every day and be a better player.”

Petrovic joins the club after the arrival of Adrian Truffert van Rennes and Junior Kroupi, who loaned the second half of last season at FC Lorient.
