Moment Palmer stops interview to quiz Cucurella on his boots after Spurs clash

COLE PALMER stopped an interview to quiz Marc Cucurella about his football boots after Chelsea's win over Tottenham.

The Blues ran out 4-3 winners on their away visit to North London after a thrilling match.

Spurs raced into a two-goal lead, with both goals coming after slips from Cucurella.

The defender complained about his shoes after the second goal.

Cucurella, 26, changed his shoes after the second slip cost his side.

After the game, Palmer was interviewed, but he couldn't resist asking his teammate about his shoes.

Palmer said, “Yo Marc, the boots, where are they?”

To which the Spaniard replied: “They are in the trash.”

Cucurella told the truth when he posted a photo of the boots in the trash on his social media.

The photo was accompanied by the caption: “Sorry Blues.”

During the competition, Cucurella improved his performance after changing footwear.

He helped his team back into the match by assisting Jadon Sancho to score.

He was able to make fun of himself in another social media post after the match.

He wrote: “It almost slipped away… but I'm proud of the great team effort to turn things around.”

Manager Enzo Maresca stressed that the players are “mature enough” to determine their own football boots for matches.

He said: “He said to me after the game that he was trying to bring emotion into the game.

“No, seriously, to play this team in this stadium and be 2-0 down, but then continue with the same plan on and off the ball and in the second half we changed things tactically.

“I think overall we deserved the win.

“It's more of a question for Marc. They are mature enough to decide what shoes they need for the game.

“The most important thing is that we were 2-0, but we continued in the same way to create chances.”

Palmer impressed himself during the match as he scored a brace from the spot.

His two penalties saw him break a Premier League record by scoring twelve penalties in a row.

Teammate Levi Colwill praised him after he was awarded Player of the Match honors.

The defender said: “Congratulations, keep saving us.”

Tottenham star Yves Bissouma conceded the first penalty for a reckless foul on Moises Caicedo.

The midfielder apologized to supporters via social media after the match.
