Liverpool close on Hugo Ekitike transfer as Newcastle pushed aside

Liverpool goes fast to close a deal for Hugo Ekitike, the Eintracht Frankfurt -Spits that Newcastle United had chased, with the Frenchman who wanted a move to Anfield, who may cost the Reds more than £ 70 million

Liverpool is in pole position to sign Hugo Ekitike with the player who prefers a move to Anfield above Newcastle. The Reds will have to submit an offer of more than £ 70 million, because Eintracht Frankfurt rejected an offer from Newcastle earlier this week.

But Liverpool has told the Bundesliga club that they are ready to offer and talk to the player. Ekitike, 23, has decided that he wants to move to Anfield and conversations are moving quickly. The Reds approached Frankfurt on Wednesday to register their interest and later informed the club that they are ready to offer. Now the two parties are looking for a deal in open contact.

Liverpool is also interested in Newcastle striker Alexander Isak. But they should break the British transfer record to land him and the magpies are not willing to sell.

Isak, 25, could cost £ 120 million, because Liverpool is considering rising with Ekitike as more than £ 70 million. The Reds currently believe that the Magpies will not sell their star striker this summer -let Liverpool muscles on an old Magpies -target and lead the tone on the outside.

As such, Ekitike has jumped to the front of the queue on Merseyside, with Frankfurt ready to separate if their appreciation of the France striker is reached. Despite the eligible for the Champions League, the German club knows that selling will now offer them the maximum they can get for the ex-PSG star and enable them to invest again.

Liverpool wants a new frontman with Darwin Nunez to be expected to leave this summer as lovers. Bayern Munich is also expected to offer Luis Diaz again after an £ 58.6 million offer was rejected by the Reds this week.

This summer Liverpool spent greatly with the signing of Wirtz van Bayer Leverkusen for a first £ 100 million that rose to £ 116 million, while they also paid the German side £ 29 million for Jeremie Frimpong.

They have named £ 40 million as Land Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth and the £ 30 million deal for keeper Giorgi Mhaldashvili from Valencia was agreed last summer.

And with Newcastle who is not willing to give to a deal for Isak – despite his frustrations about not offering a new deal in St James's park – Liverpool has received a no. 9 that they think can become world class and who, stylistically, is very similar to the Swede.

Newcastle is now desperate to add another striker to partner Isak and to have learned that Ekitike wants a switch to Merseyside, focuses on Yoann Wissa van Brentford.

The bees are determined to retain their Center-Forward, but on the back of a 19-goal Premier League season in the past term and especially with Bryan Mbeumo who wants to become a member of Manchester United-Nadat he also decided against a move to Tynide.

As such, Newcastle knows that they should act quickly if they get Wissa – with a movement that could possibly also have consequences with Old Trafford.
