Liverpool has added a new section to their website as a tribute to Diogo Jota after his early death.
On July 3, Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, died when their car crashed in North Spain in the early hours.
The 28-year-old attacker was recently married to his childhood love during a ceremony in his native Portugal after a campaign with great in trophy-winning successes for both club and country.
After the incident, Liverpool announced that Jota's No 20 would immediately retire for all levels after consultation with his widow and his family.
Since then, the club has extended the tribute to their official website.
In a section about the site with a list of the first team of the men per position, a link to Jota's profile has been immortalized under the under -heading 'Forever'.
Jota's profile now contains a tribute to the forward conclusion with the statement: “He will always be our number 20.”
Speaking in his first interview since Jota's Death Reds -Baas Arne Slot stated that the deduction of Jota's song was the least that the club could do.
“We will always carry him in our hearts, in our thoughts, wherever we go,” Slot said the Liverpool website.
'Maybe especially at difficult moments because of what I just said. But at any time we are here, we will wear it with us in our thoughts and in our hearts.
“His shirt retiring is the only thing we could and have done.”
A mural that brings tribute to Jota has recently been completed near Anfield.
Made by artist John Culshaw, the mural shows Jota smiling and puts his hands together to create a heart.
Liverpool was in action for the first time since the tragic death of Jota.
The Premier League winners traveled to Deepdale to take on Preston in a pre-season-friendly that Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo Hulde brought to Jota by copying his iconic goal celebrations into a 3-1 win.
