Marcus Rashford close to getting transfer he really wants as Man Utd AGREE deal

Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford is excess for the requirements at Old Trafford and is now close to sealing what a dream transfer to Spain would be with Barcelona

Barcelona and Manchester United come close to a deal with which Marcus Rashford will join the Spanish giants with an option to make the move permanent.

The graduate of the United Academy, 27, is surplus for requirements in Old Trafford and brought the second half of the 2024-25 campaign by having eradicated Ruben Amorim in Lian in Aston Villa. The talented attacker would always move again this summer and it is no secret that Barcelona has long been Rashford's preferred destination.

And after weeks of speculation, it seems that Rashford – part of Amorim's five man 'Bomp team' will finally get his wish on the Ground of United's Carrington.

Conversations about an initial loan movement between the clubs have started, reached the sketch of an agreement – although the finer details have yet to be sorted. The signing of Rashford has already been approved by the Barca boss, Hansi Flick, after conversations with the English International.

Rashford would initially go to the Nou -camp on loan with an option that is permanently made permanent at a later time.

Although United Rashford would rather release permanently, a loan movement will still benefit them in their attempt to raise money for further incoming transfers and have agreed to the conditions of the proposed deal, with conversations now in the last phases.

Rashford is one of the highest earner of the club at £ 325,000 a week; Villa paid two -thirds of that package plus bonuses when they signed it on loan in January.

The deal also benefits Barcelona, whose financial difficulties have been well documented in recent years.

The Spanish giants have been looking for a new left wing player all summer and had agreed personal conditions with Nico Williams during a transfer before the Athletic Club star had a late change of heart and chose to stay.

Barca has also chased Luis Diaz, but Liverpool insists that the Colombia star is not for sale.

When he was asked to sign a new winger this summer in May, Flick said: “This is what we talked about with the club. In the last games we may not have many options in that position … so we have to bring more options for the team and more quality. This is the task of Deco, is clear and I will support him.”

When he was specifically asked about interest in Rashford and Diaz, Flick added: “I don't want to talk about players who are not in my team, but of course Luis Diaz and Marcus Rashford are fantastic players. I like them and we will see what happens.”
