Match report

Manchester United started their campaign for the season with a scoreless draw against newly promoted Leeds in Stockholm.

After Ruben Amorim's side had recorded their worst-scoring Premier League campaign with 44 goals, there were little signs of improvement for the goal, despite starting new £ 62.5 million signing of Matheus Cunha, who played the first half.

In fact, Leeds looked the most threatening in the course of the 90 minutes, with the side of Daniel Farke more of the ball in the first half and many more chances to take the lead after the break.

Teenage striker Chido Obi, who started in the attack by Amorim in addition to Cunha and Bruno Fernandes, had United's best chances in the first half when he tested Karl Darlow from a tight corner.

The 17-year-old then pulled the ball from Cunha's toes in the area of a demonstration of the work that still has to be done at the training place to get Amorim's attack on songs. Casemiro's bent cross also deposited from the Leeds-Dwarsbalk in the first half of the stop time.

Amorim then changed his entire start XI during the break, but it was Leeds – who also changed wholesalers, including giving a debut for Sean Longstaff – that had better the second period.

Half-time replacement Joel Piroe set up two big opportunities for Jaden Bogle and two for Largie Ramazani, but the whites could only find Tom Heaton's gloves on every occasion.

Amorim's United thought they had a penalty when Patrick Dorgu was brought down by Sam Chambers, but the referee waved it up, with the wing back and put Illan Meslier in a decent salvation.

Man Utd then had the best chance of the afternoon when the clock tapped in 90 when Kobbie Mainoo hit the bar from a corner from just two meters, with Ayden Heaven Meslier on the rebound of a similar distance.

Their problems were summarized with their last big chance of play when Rasmus Hojlund stood in the way of Dorgu's target -related effort.

Bryan Mbeumo is on its way to completing a relocation of £ 71 million to Manchester, but there is much more to be desired about Amorim's attack based on this show.
