Leeds United has been agreed a £ 17 million step before Hoffeinheim -midfielder Anton Stach.
The 26-year-old will sign a four-year-old deal to become the sixth signing of the club of the summer when they return to the Premier League.
Stach has spent his entire career in Germany and has represented his country twice at senior level.
He spent two seasons in Mainz before he came to Hoffenheim in 2023, and also before the German Olympic side in 2021.
Allegedly, Leeds Bundesliga -Outfit Stuttgart defeated Stach's signature.
The towering German will probably be linked to Sean Longstaff in the middle of the park.
The Englishman, who made 25 Premier League performances for Newcastle last season, completed a £ 12 million on Friday and ended an 18-year-old association in St James' Park.
After drawing for Leeds, he said: 'I think I got the feeling that I really wanted me from the first time I spoke with Leeds.
'It just fulfills you confidently and it just makes you that you want to repay those people. It is a huge, massive football club – comparable to Newcastle in many ways.
'It would cost a lot for me to leave Newcastle to be honest and I didn't just go away to go somewhere, so it had to be the right place for me and my family and I think this is a perfect place.
'Every time I came to play at Leeds, the atmosphere was great, it was always bouncing and a really difficult place to play, and [I’m] I just look forward to having that on my side instead of having to play against. '
Manager Daniel Farke also has Ethan Ampadu, Ilia Gruev and Ao Tanaka at his disposal in midfield.
In addition to Stach, Leeds has brought in in defenders Sebastiaan Bornauw, Jaka Bijol and Gabriel Gudmundson next to the former Manchester City Vooruit Lukas Nmecha since he won the championship title of last season.
Leeds opens their pre-season Camapign with a friendly against Manchester United in Stockholm on Saturday.
They return to Premier League promotion by hosting Elland Road on 18 August.
