Former Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata will be back in the Serie A next season, but with a new challenge.
The 32-year-old has endured a frustrating 2025 on the back of an excellent 2024 while he supplied Spain from the UEFA Euro 2024 title.
In a daring move, he chose to leave Atletico Madrid and to join AC Milan before the 2024/25 season in a movement that he later admitted that he was sorry about making.
After struggling for consistency at the San Siro, he was borrowed from Galatasaray halfway through the season and won the Turkish title.
However, Galatasaray is not looking to keep it, and there is no place back at AC Milan, because they start to limit options.
Morata is no stranger to move and he is on course for another change, because former Spain teammate Cesc Fabregas wants to attract him to Como.
Fabregas enjoyed a solid very first season coaching in the Serie A and reports from Marca indicate that he wants to bring in Morata on a season loan for 2025/26 to add experience to his attack.
Morata is open to change, if AC Milan can agree with Como in the coming 12 months, because in 2026 he wants to lead the attack of Spain on the World Cup.
Luis de la Fuente has consistently supported Morata as his captain, after a number of bad recent impressions for the national side, and a missed fine in the definitive loss of their Nations League for Portugal.
De La Fuente admitted that he is not sure whether Morata will be involved in the September camp, because the qualification of the World Cup will start, left to his number 7 with the decision.
If Fabregas can restore him, the role of Morata in Spain remains vital, as the center between the electric duo of Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams in the front line of La Roja.
