Liverpool-young James McConnell is close to signing a new long-term deal at the club and goes out of loan for the season.
The 20-year-old midfielder, who played several times last year for the first team and made a lasting impression on the boss Arne Slot, is missing in the pre-season tour through Asia with a small injury.
It is understood that the pain is only a knock that will be suffered in the training and he will be treated this week – with the decision not to travel to Hong Kong or Japan because of the fact that the flight could worsen the symptoms. He should be fine again within about a week.
McConnell is interested in Ipswich, West Brom and Derby in the championship for a loan agreement, while German Bundesliga clubs have also posted their wish to sign him.
Some of those teams have proposed an option to buy a clause in the deal, but Liverpool is supposed to not sell McConnell as a lock is a big fan.
In January, the Dutch manager blocked McConnell's exit when he saw him as part of his plans after he had been taken away in a Champions League match in PSV Eindhoven.
McConnell came as a teenager at the club from Sunderland and played as a no. 6 since the first team photo breaks.
In the meantime, Liverpool has closed a deal to sign a highly valued striker Hugo Ekitike in a deal with a value of a maximum of £ 79 million.
The Reds were locked up in negotiations with the German side after fighting the best target of Newcastle. Ekitike only wanted Liverpool and will be a medical medical completed in the coming days.
The package is £ 69 million basic costs plus £ 10 million in add-ons based on team and player performance. The Frenchman is a member of a six -year -old deal and he will undergo his medical on Tuesday.
