The busy summer of Atletico Madrid continues. Although a lot of attention has been drawn by a series of many praised signing sessions, namely Johnny Cardoso, Alex Baena and Matteo Ruggeri, Los Colchoneros will also have one eye on the starting door because they try to balance their team.
Nahuel Molina is a player who looks like the threshold. The World Cup winner arrived three years ago as a signing of Udinese's money, with Atletico spending € 20 million to finally solve their right -wing problems after the exit of Kieran Trippier. The time when time is, however, Marcos Llorente is increasingly installed as the go-to-right-back.
It has been established that both players and clubs are open to a move, where Atletico also has to free up a non-European place that also occupies Molina after the arrival of Thiago Almada. GDS (via Diario AS) explains that Juventus has opened conversations with Atletico for Molina, who has two years left over his deal.
They say that Atletico asks for € 25-30 million, but the Bianconeri will try to bring that figure down. That can even include offering players or player loans, with Dusan Vlahovic, Weston McKennie or Nico Gonzalez.
However, the exit of Molina can be delayed by Atletico if they do not think the offer is sufficient. It seems that they can miss Jesus Areso, who in theory would have compete with Llorente at the starting point. It is not yet clear whether that can influence the willingness of Atletico to sell.
In the meantime, it is unlikely that Juventus is the only interested, where Villarreal has already made it clear that they want Molina for a loan agreement. Undoubtedly, depending on what money they can earn, Atletico would prefer a sale, since he would have to get a new deal that would bring him in his summer after this summer in all likelihood.
