Aston Villa is open to improving Morgan Rogers' contract in the coming months after his excellent displays last season.
Rogers was one of the breakout stars of the Premier League in recent years, scored 14 goals and produced 15 assists in all competitions to force his way to the entire team of England.
Although the 22-year-old only signed a new deal in November, his contributions were so impressive that he attracted the attention of top clubs in Europe, where Chelsea continued to follow the developments.
Villa is under no pressure to sell Rogers and does not intend to do this at this stage, especially since he has a little less than five years about his current deal.
Since Unai Emery took the lead in 2022, the club is always willing to reward strong performance, with almost all important players who received new deals with improved salaries during his term of office.
Another new deal would also signal to clubs that circle Rogers about how central he is for Villa's plans.
Rogers was signed by Villa in January 2024 after he had drawn Emery's eye when the Villa Baas Middlesbrough analyzed – where Rogers played – for a FA Cup strop.
Emery regards versatility as the most important quality in modern football and was sold to Rogers' ability to operate in various attacking positions. At Villa, Rogers played both flanks and in the NO10 position.
Villa also hopes a new deal with the most important midfielder Boubacar Kamara, whose current deal will last two years.
When Fit, Kamara is demonstrably the most important player of Emery and his free transfer of Marseille in the summer of 2022 remains one of the smartest transfers of Villa of recent times.
