Liverpool has agreed a deal worth £ 79 million to sign Hugo Ekitike of Eintracht Frankfurt – and their flurry of signing sessions may also stop there this summer
Liverpool has found the Centrum-Forward where they have received while continuing their extremely busy summer window.
The Reds have already concluded deals for Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Armin Pesci and Freddie Woodman for an edition of around £ 180 million, while Giorgi Mhamardashvili also arrived this summer, who were signed last year but was published to Valencia.
That spending figure will soon darken £ 250 million after the news that a deal had agreed to sign Hugo Ekitike van Eintracht Frankfurt. Ekitike had been a target for Newcastle, but Frankfurt rejected a £ 70 million offer from the Magpies and Liverpool initially dived its hand for £ 69 million with another £ 10 million in add-ons.
It has been a hugely productive window for Arne Slot, who could still say goodbye to Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Ibrahima Konate and Harvey Elliott in the coming weeks. Here is the latest news about the transfer in which the club is involved.
Ekitike Medical
Ekitike will sign a six -year contract with Liverpool once his switch from Frankfurt is completed. The Frenchman made it clear that he was open to member of the Premier League champions as soon as their interest arose and the deal was quickly packed.
He flies to Merseyside on Tuesday to undergo a medical, where he is greeted by the medical staff of the club and sports director Richard Hughes. The club's training field will be a bit of a ghost ship, considering Slot and his team left to Asia during their pre-season tour.
Ekitike flies out to join his new teammates as soon as the formalities are completed. Liverpool inquired about the possibility of signing Alexander Isak from Newcastle before he went to Ekitike, but quickly moved as soon as they had the layer of the country.
NUNEZ -SITUATION
Nunez scored a hat trick in a pre-season friendly against Stoke at the weekend when he played as a center-forward. His form in the preseason has been intriguing, since he is on the transfer list and is looking for an exit after struggling for regular playing time last season.
Napoli showed an interest in the Uruguay international, but the move never came. And with Ekitike who arrives to become the first choice center-forward, Nunez knows that he will probably play second violin if he stays.
Liverpool has until 1 September to try to shift the former Benfica man, while there are doubts about the future of Diaz. Bayern Munich has seen a £ 58 million offer rejected by Liverpool, but could return to test their determination.
Wirtz -argument
Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund have a fight about Wirtz, who recently came to Liverpool for £ 116.5 million.
Dortmund Chief Hans-Joachim Watzke said that the situation was a “real shame” because it made the Bundesliga a weaker division. But Leverkusen's Fernando Carro is stunned by the criticism.
“To be honest, yes. I have a different opinion than Hans-Joachim Watzke, “Sarro said, speaking with Welt Am Sonntag. “I don't understand how, as the boss of Borussia Dortmund, he could have been happy if Wirtz had gone to Munich.
“That would have made Bayern even stronger. I want an exciting Bundesliga. I am happy as more clubs – besides us – make life difficult for Bayern, because I believe that the Bundesliga will benefit.”
