Manchester United is looking for a new striker, who have already strengthened their attack with the signing sessions of Bryan Mbeumo by Brentford and Matheus Cunha van Wolves
After finally completing the signing of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, Manchester United is now aiming their efforts on a new striker. Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee managed only seven Premier League goals between them last season and Ruben Amorim wants to strengthen his attack.
The additions of Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha will help, but Amorim wants a new striker to lead the border. United missed Liam Delap earlier this summer after he decided to join Chelsea in a £ 30 million deal.
United was interested in Viktor Gyokees earlier in the year, but since then that interest no longer followed and not intended to fight against Arsenal for his signature since he decided to join the Gunners. According to athletics, a late attempt to sign Hugo Ekitike was considered, but the Frenchman had already decided to join Liverpool when intermediaries tried to see if a deal was possible.
RB Leipzig -striker Benjamin Sesko was briefly considered, but the full costs of a transfer, plus his salary requirements, weighed against his output in the last term of Bundesliga, did not set out -geodered leaders. Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins is an admired player, but the Villans do not want to sell.
And Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea is the newest player who encounters the Radar of United, and although the sun has suggested that he may be open to a move to Old Trafford, the asking price of the blues £ 80 million makes that a non-starter.
Mirror Football understands that Amorim also wants to sign a new midfielder, after he has admitted that it was a point of care after the 0-0 draw of United with Leeds United in a pre-season-friendly last week.
“It was a game for the season,” said Amorim. “The holes between our sectors were sometimes too big. We have a lack of pace, especially in the middle of the park and you can feel that it is difficult to win and bring the ball. But we have created opportunities.”
United has succeeded in raising extra money because of sold -out clauses, with Alvaro Carreras, Anthony Elanga and Maxi Oyedele who all join new clubs this summer. The Red Devils have earned a percentage of the transfer costs of each player, while the approaching loan movement of Marcus Rashford will also help.
Rashford is about to get on loan at Barcelona with an option to buy and the La Liga Giants have agreed to fully pay his £ 325,000 a weekly wages. Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia will also leave this summer.
Those four players are placed in the 'Bomb Squad' and train away from the first team after they have been informed that they are not part of Amorim's plans. Sancho, Antony and Malacia all sent loan last season.
Sancho spent the season in Chelsea, but they chose not to sign him permanently, while Antony was impressed by Real Betis and they hope to re-sign the Brazil international this summer. Meanwhile, Malacia struggled for regular playing time at PSV Eindhoven.
