Man Utd’s £62.5m signing Cunha celebrates daughter’s birth before US tour

Manchester United Forward Matheus Cunha announced the birth of his second child on Monday evening via social media.

Cunha, 26, went to Instagram to share photos of newborn daughter, Liz, while visiting his wife, Gabi, in the hospital with their son.

He could be seen besides Gabi in a series of photos when the couple celebrated the news, which would fly to the United States for a tour for the season just a few hours before United came.

It is currently unclear when Cunha will join the United Squad for their matches in the US.

The Brazil International endorsed the post: 'Hello world, I am Liz. And we are now four. I am very blessed to have you. Thank God for everything. '

He received countless congratulations with the social media platform, in particular from his countryman and Arsenal Vooruit Gabriel Martinelli.

His new club teammate Bruno Fernandes and football journalist Fabrizio Romano also gave their wishes after Cunha had uploaded the post.

Further recognition came from another Selecao teammate of Cunhas in Vinicius JR and the official club account of United.

It follows his recent move to Old Trafford, who saw him coming from Wolves earlier this summer for £ 62.5 million.

He will be affected by a new signing in Bryan Mbeumo, whose transfer of £ 71 million from Brentford was confirmed on Monday evening.

The deal, which includes a fixed fee of £ 65 million with a further £ 6 million in potential add-ons.

Mbeumo signed until June 2030 with the option for the club to extend its contract with another 12 months.

Mbeumo, 25, made it clear that he only wanted to become a member of United despite rival interest of Tottenham, Newcastle and Arsenal.

There was also a late move from Chelsea, but Stamford Bridge sources insist that an offer was never made.

It is said that United is unhappy with Brentford for dragging the conversations and changing their appreciation-on a certain moment raising their demand for £ 70 million plus £ 7 million in add-ons.

It is also assumed that they have put pressure on Mbeumo to lower its wage requirements, so that United could offer greater transfer costs.

There is a relief at Old Trafford that they have finally caught a player who has on average an impressive 18 goal contributions per season since the promotion of Brentford to the top.
