Barcelona has been in contract extensions with Jules Kounde for several weeks, with all parties optimistic despite the interest of Manchester City.
According to journalist Fabrice Hawkins, the negotiations between Barcelona and the 26-year-old have been “for a few weeks” and all parties are convinced that a deal will be closed.
Barcelona is considered Kounde as the best in the world in his position and wants to give him a new deal that reflects that appreciation.
Manchester City is, however, interested with Pep Guardiola who wants to sign the French International as a replacement for the now left Kyle Walker.
The report adds that a different nameless 'Topclub' has also conducted a study into the defender who made 53 performances last season.
