Mbeumo cannot wait to play in front of MU’s “crazy” fans after £71m transfer

Bryan Mbeumo has become a member of Manchester United from Brentford in a £ 71 million deal and the 25-year-old is looking forward to making his Old Trafford debut in the iconic No.7 shirt

Bryan Mbeumo can't wait to play for the 'crazy' fans of Manchester United after his £ 71 million movement. Mbeumo also unveiled the first football shirt that he had to grow up was a united with the name of Cristiano Ronaldo and iconic no. 7 at the back.

Cameroon Forward Mbeumo will participate in his first training session on Wednesday with his new United Team Mats in Chicago, prior to the opener on Saturday for the season against West Ham.

Mbeumo, 25, enjoys making his Old Trafford debut for United for 75,000 fans – after he has experienced the crazy atmosphere there as an opposition player at Brentford.

“The fans are crazy, the stadium is great – everyone wants to play here,” said Mbeumo. “There is a lot of excitement and I am ready. The manager seems very close to his players, with his mentality.

“It seems to be a really good group, the Spirit is really important and I have only heard good things about the Gaffer and the team. It is really important for me to make links with my teammates as quickly as possible, in and outside the field.

“Spirit is important and I want to be involved as quickly as possible. My dream was to become a football player and play for one of the largest teams in the world. If you actually do it, it's very different and I am just happy to be here.”

Asked why he had always wanted to play for United, Mbeumo said: “My first top was united, with Ronaldo behind [on the back]. It is such a big club, one of the best clubs I could participate in.

“Representing my country at the biggest club is something I always wanted to do. I've always wanted to play at the highest level. Now I just want to show what I can do.”

Mbeumo is the third senior signing of United this summer after Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon and Mirror Football understand that Ruben Amorim wants to add a new striker and a new midfielder before the transfer star is closed.

Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee managed only seven Premier League goals between them last season and Amorim wants a striker who can score more than 20 goals in a campaign. He also admitted that midfield was a point of care after a 0-0-yellow game with Leeds United in the preseason.

“The holes between our sectors were sometimes too big,” Amorim said. “We have a lack of pace, especially in the middle of the park and you can feel that it is difficult to win and bring the ball. But we have created opportunities.”
