Barcelona agree deal for Ghana international

Barcelona has agreed a new deal for Ghana Talent Abdul Azziz Issah to return to the club for next season, where he will publish it at Barca Atletic. The 19-year-old is a curious business, after having played little on the Catalan side last year.

Last summer, Azziz arrived on loan from Dreams FC and hardly played, and only made two performances under Albert Sanchez for just 26 minutes. That is despite making 61 performances, scoring 12 goals and giving four assists in the Ghanaian Premier League. In May, already under 20 international, Otto Addo called him and gave him 30 minutes on his international debut for the Black Stars in a 4-0 friendly victory over Trinidad and Tobago.

Barcelona has agreed a new deal for Azziz Issah to return to the club, after he reportedly did not exercise an option to buy, say Sport. Last season was interrupted in May by his participation in the African Cup of Nations Under-20, where Azziz played four times and once scored and won the game in the quarterfinals while his side left penalties against Egypt, after a 2-2 division.

The same outlet reference A report from Ghana Soccer Net, where Saddick Adams has claimed that Barcelona has already paid a fee for Azziz. His information is that Barcelona started offering € 400K, but that the negotiations have brought the costs a total of € 1 million – it is not yet clear whether this relates to loan costs, but Barcelona has only announced two loan agreements, without reporting costs.

It is certainly a surprise that Azziz continues to perform at an international level for Ghana, but overlooked for Barca Atletic. Juliano Belletti is the new manager who is responsible for the affiliated side, but Azziz is now playing in the fourth level of Spain. The teenage perspective is part of a new policy from Barcelona and takes the risk of young talents and often tries to sell with profit.
