Alexander Isak was seen at training in Newcastle and led to renewed rumors about his future in the club after interest from Liverpool and the Saudi Pro League
There was a simple reason behind Alexander Isak – training only in Newcastle – but rumors about his future are not going away. Newcastle fans went into the Meltdown on Tuesday when photos came forward and only showed him training after a week of turbulence in which the Star Striker was involved.
Isak was not part of the team that was hit 4-0 on Saturday by Celtic in Glasgow, where Eddie Howe decided to get him out of the spotlight. “I chose to send him home,” said Newcastle's boss after the game.
“The last thing Alex wants if he doesn't play is to be in the stands and under that investigation, if he didn't play today, we agreed that he should not be here.
“It was my decision. He traveled with us back to Glasgow, but I decided to send him home because of the speculation around him. [ Joelinton and Isak] His fit but not ready to play. Alex has trained and is fine, but we did not want to take the risk with him. “
Those comments were an attempt to clean up things, but demonstrably only increased the speculation around the Swedish star. The fact that he was then shown, training away from his teammates added to the furore.
But Newcastleworld says that ISAK trains as a precautionary measure after having undergone a scan on a thigh injury. It clearly came back, but even the reports around rush hour still go, where talking said he is demanding a huge wage increase.
Isak currently earns around £ 120,000 a week with the Magpies, but it is said to agites £ 300,000 a week to sign a new deal in the midst of interest from Saudi Arabia. His current conditions still have three years to go, but Newcastle knows that they are potentially vulnerable to clubs that can offer him more money.
Before Liverpool Hugo Ekitike signed up for £ 79 million from Eintracht Frankfurt, Liverpool contacted Newcastle to inquire about a possible £ 120 million deal for Isak last week. That approach could ultimately destroy the wage structure of Newcastle, which currently has Bruno Guimaraes as the top of the performance at £ 160,000 a week.
With the Liverpool threat disappeared, ISAK is expected to join his teammates on the pre-season tour of Newcastle through Asia. And Howe is absolutely clear about what the future will entail for their star striker.
“We have some of those players who are irreplaceable,” said Howe. “Your top players are so hard to find, so hard to recruit and so hard to develop. So if you have them, you have to cherish them. Of course we are desperate to keep him as part of our team.
“I think it is difficult for me to ever give 100 percent clarity to every player, I would never do that. The only thing I can say is that Alex is happy at Newcastle, he loves the players, the staff, the team. I have never had a problem with him and I am convinced that he will be here at the start of the season.”
