Man Utd take huge financial hit on Rashford after dropping asking price twice

Manchester United sends Marcus Rashford on loan to Barcelona, who will have the option to sign it for a much lower fee than the club originally wanted

The despair of Manchester United to get Marcus Rashford from their wage account, dramatically dropped them their appreciation of the striker. Rashford is ready to join Barcelona to a seasonal loan with an option to buy after he is frozen by Ruben Amorim at United.

Amorim's relationship with Rashford went off in December when he was cast out of the United First-Team team. He was subsequently sent on loan to Aston Villa in January and after he cheered up his career with four goals and six assists in 17 performances, Rashford focused his sights on Barca.

The 27-year-old rejected a mega-money movement to Saudi Arabia and waited patiently for Barca and United to get to terms about a move. That has now happened and Rashford flew into the city earlier this week to complete the last phases of his move.

Barcelona has agreed to take Rashford on loan for the 2025/26 season with an option to make it permanent. Barca will pay the whole of its wages after Rashford agreed to take a wage reduction of 15 percent of his wages of £ 325,000 a week. They can also sign him for € 30 million (£ 26 million).

Earlier this summer, United made it clear that they would like to sell Rashford to every club that would punch £ 40 million. His contract with the club runs until June 2028, so their asking price was not outrageous, especially since they believed that he was worth £ 100 million in April 2024 when Paris Saint-Germain sniffed around.

The rapidly sliding scale of United around Rashford just shows the acidity around the attacker since Amorim made a decision. In recent weeks, the striker of England has been part of Amorim's so -called 'Bomb Squad', forced to train separately from the first team of Carrington.

Rashford and fellow unable to players Jadon Sancho, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia have arrived in the training area after 5 p.m. when everyone has already left. It is a brutal policy that has no universal support in the building, but is designed to speed up their outputs.

It may have played a role in securing the exit from Rashford, while Sancho is also ready to leave for Juventus. But a little more chance of having done the trick is the despair of United to discharge their high -quality players that Amorim had made clear, have no future at the club.

Rashford was not the first choice of Barcelona this summer. The Catalan giants had tried to sign Nico Williams of Athletic Club, but the move fell on. They also showed interest in Liverpool -wing player Luis Diaz, but were deterred by the transfer posture of the Reds.

“I don't want to talk about players who are not in my team, but of course Luis Diaz and Marcus Rashford are fantastic players,” said manager Hansi Flick said earlier in the summer. “I like them and we will see what happens.”

Rashford will also not be a guaranteed starter. He can play on the left of Barca's 4-3-3 formation, but will be aware that Raphinha has just enjoyed an incredible campaign in that position, while he will be a backup of Robert Lewandowski in Center-Forward.
