Manchester United has been busy in the window after signing Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, but neither of the players works like a no. 9 and the Red Devils are preparing to start the season without a new striker
Manchester United is willing to start the new season without a new striker leading their attack.
A striker was the priority of United in this summer's transfer star, after last season only scored 44 goals in the Premier League when they finished 15th – their lowest placement for 51 years.
But the only two arrivals from United have so far been £ 62.5 million that Matheus Cunha van Wolves and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford signed for £ 71 million, which none of them work as no. 9.
United has their top-peak goals go somewhere else this summer Liam Delap came to Chelsea, Viktor Gyokeres closes a move to Arsenal, while Hugo Ekitike is bound in Liverpool.
Against that background, senior figures at United Private Trust have every chance that they will start their Premier League opener at home on Arsenal on August 17 without a new striker.
United retains an interest in Paris St Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani, who was on their radar two years ago when they eventually paid a coarse inflated fee of £ 72 million for Rasmus Hojlund.
The Red Devils could also do a Swap deal in which winger Alejandro Garnacho was involved – omitted from the American Tour team after he had asked to leave – and Chelsea -Spits Nicolas Jackson, both appreciated at £ 40 million.
Garnacho wants to stay in the Premier League, with Chelsea his first-choice club, although there is a reluctance at United to sell him to a domestic rival in a movement that can eventually be counterproductive.
Jackson has been pushed the pecking order on Stamford Bridge after the arrival of Delap of Ipswich and Joao Pedro from Brighton, who are both for him in terms of selection.
This summer, United is focusing their transfer activities on players with the proven Premier League experience that do not require a setling in the period, but that can reach the land.
That approach is underlined by their successful movements for Cunha and Mbeumo, with Jackson a feasible option that would solve two problems – recruit a new striker and discharge Garnacho.
The players of United trained on the hottest day of the year in Chicago on Wednesday, where the temperature reached 95F when Amorim's team was put by their passes. It will be a similar story on Thursday, in which the heatwave continues, while the players of United Train in Soldier Field, the home of NFL Side Chicago Bears.
