Barcelona has announced the signing of England and Manchester United Marcus Rashford on a seasonal loan. The 27-year-old is the second senior signing of the summer for the Blaugrana, after the arrival of Joan Garcia last year.
The Catalan giants will pay most of his wages, although Rashford has agreed to take a salary reduction to help through a move. If they wish, Barcelona can exercise an option to buy that is supposed to be in the region of € 30 million, with a criminal clause of € 5 million if they don't.
Rashford spoke with the official media channel of the club and explained that he already has the feeling that he is at home in Barcelona. He arrived on Sunday to complete the move and trained for the first time on Tuesday evening.
“Very excited, it is a club where the dreams of people come out, they win big prizes, and for which the club also stands for. It feels like I'm at home, and this was a big factor in my choice to come here. For me it is a family sub. People are comfortable here, and it is a good place to be.”
In terms of what fans can expect from him, Rashford wanted to be decisive.
