Alexander Volkanovski admits things are up in the air ahead of his next title defense following Movsar Evloev’s pullout

Alexander Volkanovski is still waiting to find out who he will defend his UFC -Fedweight title against Next.

Earlier this year at UFC 314, Alexander Volkanovski again showed why he is one of the largest featherweights ever when he lived back his title against Diego Lopes in a vacant title fight.

After his victory over the rising Brazilian Volkanovski revealed that his family all asked him to retire, but he chose to keep his gloves on and continue in the sport.

Nevertheless, there is some uncertainty about 'The Great's' Next Fight, because there is no clear number one competition in the division to fight.

Alexander Volkanovski remains unclear that Movsar Evloev must be the next one

Both before and after his fight against Lopes, Volkanovski made it clear that he thought that the next competition should then be the undefeated Movsar Evloev.

The Australian constantly campaigned against the Russian, but despite his desire to fight with him, Evloev was bizarre to fight against Aaron Pico instead to deny Volkanovski of his desired fight.

And with that rumors then started to come that Volkanovski would defend his title against Yair Rodriguez, who did not sit well with the UFC fans.

Nevertheless, the conversations seem to have stalled and a key was thrown in when Evloev recently withdrew from his fight against Pico, with this unclear from now on whether the promotion wants to book that fight again.

“I think that is what is happening, what is a pity, because as I said, I have made it clear that I believe he should be the next, he deserves it and I know he would get the title shot if he would win that fight, so now that puts a key in the making, Volkanovski told the TV of the main event.

“What happens from here, they push the fight back, is that someone is going to replace him or the winner of that fight ultimately with whom I am confronted, so that it leaves things in the air for me, but we will see what happens.

“It's all in the air. There are a few boys, if you had your Lerone Murphy, Arnold Allen, there are other boys who are above it, if they would fill in as a late replacement and win a victory, I am sure the UFC will go (give them a title shot),” he continued.

Volkanovski has recently been confronted with potential future opponents

Someone who apparently is only one win of challenge for the title is the rising Jean Silva. 'Lord' Silva has been booked to fight Lopes on September 13 in what is a huge fight in the division.

And with that Volkanovski and Silva had recently finished a spontaneous face while the fighting nerds and city skirts stared at each other.

“I just played the role, I could get along with them all, Jean Silva is actually a very respectful guy, good guy and the good, I like it when people have character, but they don't have to make this fake,” said Volkanovski.
