OFFICIAL: Newcastle United Sign Seung-soo Park from Suwon Bluewings

Newcastle United has confirmed the signing of highly rated South Korean winger Seung-Sooo Park of K League 2 Club Suwon Bluewings.

Newcastle United has completed the signing of the highly appreciated South Korean winger Seung-Sooo Park of K League 2-side Suwon Bluewings.

The 18-year-old has made 28 senior performances for the Bluewings in all competitions and records one goal and three assists.

Park, which has been closed off for South Korea under the age of 20, will join the Clubsacademie and join the team of the Magpies Under-21.

Park said: “It is a huge honor to become a member of Newcastle United.

“It is a big step for me and I feel incredibly grateful for the belief that the club has shown in me.

“I am excited to develop here, learn from the coaches and to give everything to become the best player I can be.”

After coming to the youth system in Suwon Bluewings, Park became the youngest goal scorer in the history of South Korean professional football when he won a 1-1 draw against Ansan Greeners FC in June 2024.

Academy director Steve Harper added: “Park is an exciting young talent with real potential.

“He has already shown maturity after his years in a competitive environment and we are pleased to welcome him in the club.

“His signing reflects our dedication to identifying and developing elitental talent from all over the world and credit must go to our recruitment network, which will continue to do an excellent job when identifying talented young players who have potential to thrive here.

“We have seen our talent process that produces a number of excellent success stories in the past seasons and Park is now joining a group of young players with the same opportunity for them.”
